7" Cooker Hob Hotplate Ring Spiral Element
7" twin circuit or dual universal cooker hotplate spiral or radiant ring type to fit many models of cooker
These radiant rings (we refer to them as that in the trade) are very, very common on freestanding cookers although there are some hobs that use them they are now rare. When they fail they quite often will fail with a pop as one small area will blow on them.
They are pretty easy to replace but you must ensure that the power is switched off in order for you to do so safely..
The most common of these types of element are the 6" which is the smallest of them, the 7" which people regard as the larger ringplate and the dual one, which has the smaller ring that heats in the centre but can also use the outer giving a larger cooking area.
The Imperial measurement are still used for these as they hark back to the very introduction of electric cookers and these type of elements are still very commonplace in the US market.
If you are unsure or you need another part for your oven or cooker then please feel free to email us for more information or advice.
More Information About Elements
Element failures are usually pretty easy to diagnose as, when faulty, the actual element itself will often warp, twist or split sometimes resulting if what would appear to be the element "blowing" but in fact it is often simply some of the powder inside escaping as the element splits.
Most often these hob ring elements "glow" red and this is known as an "infra-red" element. However it is worth noting that on some cookers and hobs that use these dual zone elements that the outer heating element may not glow.
In general these cooker ring type elements are relatively straightforward to change however you will require, as always when working on electrical appliances such as ovens and cookers, to isolate the appliance from the mains power for safety. Whatever you do, do not work on a cooker or oven that is live as it is highly dangerous to do so.
Hob elements can also jut like many other spare parts, be the victim of cheap and poor quality parts which fail sooner if they work at all and also be poorly constructed making them harder to fit.

Oven & Cooker Spare Parts.
Locating your correct model number is the essential first step. Avoid generic user manuals—they often cover multiple chassis types and internal variations that don't apply to your specific unit.
Ovens & Cookers
The rating plate is usually inside the oven door or on the lip of the door opening. For range cookers, check inside the storage drawer or the lower kick-plate.
Built-in Hobs
Hobs present a challenge: the data is typically on the underside. You may need to remove a drawer or look up from inside the cupboard below to view the sticker.
Intelligent Part Filtering
We only list parts with a proven failure rate or those specifically requested by engineers. This limits irrelevant results and ensures you find only what fails, rather than parts that are almost never required.
! Images & Sizes for Information Only
Oven elements and thermostats may vary in shape, terminal position, or wattage from the images shown. Manufacturers frequently alter specifications mid-production.
IMPORTANT: Many heating elements look nearly identical but have different mounting points. Do not rely on visual matching—verify via your model data or ask our specialists.

Cost-Effective Spare Parts
Save Money On
Spare Parts.
Cost-compatible spare parts are not generic “one-size-fits-all” items. They fall into several categories, and care must be taken to ensure the replacement is fully appropriate for your appliance.
How Compatible Parts Work
Most cost-compatible parts are the same components originally used by the manufacturer but sourced from a different supplier. Often, the brand on your appliance did not manufacture every part themselves. Clever sourcing allows us to provide the exact same part — at a lower cost — sometimes even using a different manufacturer’s part number.
Choosing The Right Replacement
Some compatible parts are excellent, offering the same performance as the original. Others are very cheap but may fail quickly. We evaluate parts before listing and provide guidance so you can avoid low-quality replacements.
Obsolete or Universal Parts
Some original parts are no longer available, so compatible alternatives are the only option. Universal parts may also be used. We only list replacements we trust to ensure quality and fit, protecting you from poor-performing components.
