Hob Elements
These “solid plate” heating elements are fitted to many built-in hobs and freestanding cookers. They’ve replaced the older radiant spiral heating rings because they look better and are more efficient.
These plates come in rapid and slow heating types. Rapid heating plates have a large red dot in the centre. We usually only use the rapid ones for replacements because they heat up quicker.
The chrome trim around these plates discolours with use.
