This pan stand will only fit the Smeg models as shown or as specifically advised and will not fit any others as even if it looks the same, it probably won't be as there are several that look alike yet are not. Gas burner parts are split into the burner cap (or crown) and the burner body (or skirt). Both parts can discolour over time due to heat, spillage, and normal use—this is unavoidable.
About Gas Burner Parts
Burner caps sit on top and are easy to lift off for cleaning. Burner bodies sit below and often have a chrome or silver finish that discolours with heat and spillage. Some models feature purpose-specific burners, such as fish or wok burners, where the crown and body are a single unit.
Checking The Burner Flame
A bright blue flame indicates correct operation. Any yellow or orange indicates incomplete combustion. Allow the burner to warm for several minutes before assuming a fault. If unsure or if the flame remains incorrect, contact a Gas Safe registered engineer. Gas is dangerous if handled incorrectly.
