Description
This genuine lower oven heating element directly replaces the bottom heating element in a wide range of Bauknecht, Whirlpool, Ignis, and IKEA ovens and cookers. Rated at 1150W and designed for 230V operation, this element provides even, consistent heat distribution for baking, roasting and general cooking.
Over time, oven heating elements can burn out or fail due to thermal stress, grease build-up or general wear and tear. Common symptoms include the oven taking longer than usual to reach temperature, uneven cooking results, or the element failing to glow red during operation. Replacing a faulty lower element restores proper heat output and cooking performance.

Fitment guidance: This element is designed for the lower (bottom) heating position in compatible ovens. Even if a part looks the same, it may not be compatible – always verify your model number. The model number can usually be found on a rating plate inside the oven door, on the door frame, or on the rear panel of the appliance.
Replacement tips: Always disconnect the appliance from the mains before starting any repair. Remove the oven floor panel to access the lower element. Note the wiring configuration before disconnecting the old element. When fitting the new element, ensure it sits flat and does not touch the oven cavity walls.

Oven Heating Elements.
Cooker and oven lower element failures are usually easy to diagnose because the oven will only partially heat or not heat up as it should.
How to Identify a Faulty Lower Element:

Visual inspection — Remove the oven floor panel (if applicable) and inspect the element for visible damage

Multimeter test — A continuity test will confirm whether the element has burned out

Performance symptoms — If the oven takes ages to heat up or doesn't reach temperature at all, the element is likely faulty
Functionality
You’ll often find that the lower or base oven element is only found in static ovens (not fan-driven) on multi-function ovens. These base elements usually work in conjunction with other heating elements to provide an even spread of heat throughout the cooking cavity.
DIY Installation
Changing many lower base heating elements can be tricky; some are downright awkward! It’s therefore advised only for those with good DIY skills. In almost all cases, built-in models must be removed from the housing and panels removed to access the element.

Stock Availability

Tradesman Warning
