Genuine Gorenje Spare Part

Replacement freezer drawer cover – compatible with Gorenje fridge freezer models as shown unless advised otherwise

Check your fridge freezer model number to ensure a guaranteed fit.

Description

This genuine Gorenje freezer drawer cover is the same part fitted at the factory, restoring the drawer front to how it was intended to look and function.

Being a genuine part it matches the original in colour, moulding and mounting points, and it clips onto the drawer front using the existing fixings without tools or modification.

The cover protects the drawer front, provides a grip point, and finishes the interior of the freezer. It is shared across several Gorenje fridge freezer models, but drawer fronts and fixing arrangements vary between ranges, so confirm the model reference before ordering.

This part will only fit the models as shown or as specifically advised and will not fit any others. Please check your model number carefully against the compatibility list before ordering.

Technical Notes

Specifications: Freezer drawer cover. Product code: 213188. Moulded food-safe plastic front cover with original mounting points. Clips onto the existing drawer front; no tools required. Supplied as a single cover. Direct replacement for the original factory-fitted part.

Common Faults & Symptoms

A freezer drawer cover has no moving parts or electrics, so its failure is always visible rather than intermittent. The signs below are the ones that most often lead a customer to replace the cover.

1
Cracked or Split Front
The most common reason for replacement. Cracks across the face of the cover usually begin at the fixing points where the panel is stressed when the drawer is pulled open.
2
Cover Detached from the Drawer
If the cover no longer clips onto the drawer front, the moulded retaining points have broken or worn. The panel hangs loose, catches on the freezer liner or falls off entirely.
3
Broken Grip or Handle Area
The grip at the top of the cover takes the pull every time the drawer is opened. Once it cracks or snaps, the drawer becomes awkward to open and the panel is likely to break further.
4
Cover Bowing or Distorted
A cover that has warped with cold and repeated use no longer sits flush against the drawer front. It can foul the freezer liner as the drawer slides in and out.
5
Drawer Hard to Open or Close
A distorted cover can catch on the freezer liner or the drawer above, making the drawer stiff to move. This often feels like a drawer runner fault but traces back to the cover.
6
Visible Chip or Missing Corner
Impact damage from a dropped item or a knock during cleaning can chip a corner of the cover. A missing corner exposes the drawer front beneath and looks unsightly.
7
Discoloured or Scuffed Finish
Years of handling can leave the plastic scuffed, clouded or yellowed. This is cosmetic, but a replacement cover restores a uniform appearance across the freezer interior.
8
Drawer Front Exposed Beneath
With the cover missing, the raw drawer front is left visible. It is less durable, less hygienic to handle and spoils the finished look of the freezer interior.

Fitment Guidance

This part is compatible only with the Gorenje models listed in the compatibility matrix above. Similar-looking drawer covers are used across the range, so the model reference matters more than the photograph.

  • Check your full model number against the Gorenje list above before ordering.
  • Confirm which freezer drawer the cover is for — upper, middle or lower — as the part can differ by position.
  • Compare the fixing points on your existing cover with the new part before removal.
  • If your model is not listed, contact our parts team with the model and serial number from the rating plate to confirm fitment.

Diagnostic Tips

Before ordering a replacement, work through these checks to make sure the cover is genuinely at fault.

  • Inspect the drawer front: Check that the mounting points on the drawer itself are intact. A broken drawer front, not a broken cover, is sometimes the reason a cover will not clip back on.
  • Check the retaining clips: Look along the edge of the cover for broken or stretched retaining clips. A cover with two or more missing clips will never sit flush.
  • Slide the drawer without the cover: If the drawer runs freely once the cover is removed, the cover is catching rather than the runners being faulty.
  • Compare with another drawer: If the freezer has more than one drawer, compare the suspect cover with an intact one to see whether the difference is in the cover or the drawer front.

Installation Guide

The sequence below is the general method. Freezer drawer designs vary between ranges, so always follow the appliance handbook where one is available.

  1. Open the freezer drawer and empty it so the front is fully accessible.
  2. Release the existing cover from its retaining clips, working along the edge from one end to the other.
  3. Wipe the drawer front clean of any residue or ice build-up where the new cover will sit.
  4. Offer the new cover up to the drawer front, engaging the fixing points at the top first, then press the lower edge into place.
  5. Check that the cover sits flush along its full length and does not catch on the freezer liner when the drawer slides.
  6. Reload the drawer and open and close it a few times to confirm the cover stays secure.

Before Ordering, Check These First

  • Check your model number against the Gorenje list above.
  • Confirm which drawer position the cover is for.
  • Compare the fixing points on your existing cover with the new part.
  • Inspect the drawer front itself for damage before ordering a cover.
  • Verify your full model number — normally on the rating plate inside the fridge compartment.

Disclaimer: The fault codes and symptoms listed above are intended as a general guide to assist with diagnosis. They cannot be taken as a definitive diagnosis of any particular problem, and other components may produce similar symptoms. Always confirm the fault with proper testing before ordering parts.

Fridge & Freezer Spares

Freezer
Flaps & Covers

Plastic freezer flaps and drawer fronts are common breakages, especially in cheaper models. Overfreezing, frost buildup, or overloading baskets increases stress on these parts. Regular defrosting and careful use can help prevent damage.

Ordering Freezer Internal Plastic Parts

Do not rely solely on images when ordering flaps or drawer fronts. Each part is uniquely moulded to fit specific positions and models. Matching your model and position is essential for a correct fit.

If you are unsure, contact us—we can verify your model, position, or part dimensions (if available) to ensure you receive the correct replacement and avoid mistakes.

Can't Find The Freezer Flap You Need?

Freezer flaps and drawer covers can vary by model and position. Send us your fridge/freezer model, or a photo of the part, and we’ll help you find the correct replacement. We can also suggest low-cost compatible options when available.

While less known to the public, Gorenje is a powerhouse in the appliance trade. Now owned by the Hisense Group, they manufacture premium components for many high-end brands, including Smeg.

The Critical ART Number

Model numbers are insufficient for Gorenje. To nail down the exact variant of your machine, we require the ART number from the rating plate.

This ensures the part info we provide is 100% correct for your specific production batch.

Finding the Rating Plate

For cooking and laundry, look around the door or the frame. For refrigeration, check the left-hand inner wall. The sticker is usually prominent and easy to read.

Specialist Gorenje Assistance

Don't overpay for designer-branded spares. Send us your ART number and let our team find the most cost-effective Gorenje-produced component for your appliance.
