Genuine Clean Air Plus Odour Filters
Replacement clean air plus odour filter – compatible with Balay, Bosch, Constructa, Gaggenau, Neff and Siemens as shown unless advised otherwise
Description
Restore the freshest possible air in your kitchen with this genuine CleanAir Plus odour filter set. As an original BSH component, it matches the filter fitted at the factory in dimensions, carbon granulate density, and housing construction.
The set includes four lamellar filters filled with high-performance activated carbon that work together to trap cooking odours, smoke, and airborne grease particles as air passes through the hood or venting hob. The CleanAir Plus design is engineered for optimised odour reduction, neutralising even complex odour molecules from frying, grilling and strong spices.
Manufactured from durable, food-safe materials, these filters are designed to withstand the heat and humidity of everyday cooking without losing their filtration properties.
Carbon filters are consumable components that become saturated over time. As they trap grease and odours, their filtration efficiency drops, so you must replace them to maintain performance. The recommended service life is 6 to 12 months, depending on usage. Common signs that a filter needs replacing include lingering cooking odours, a greasy film on kitchen surfaces, reduced airflow, and a filter saturation indicator flashing on the appliance display.
Fitting a new set of CleanAir Plus filters restores the appliance's ability to remove odours and keeps the kitchen air fresh.
This active carbon filter set will only fit the models shown or specifically advised and will not fit any others, even if they look the same; they probably won't, as several look alike but aren't interchangeable. Please take time to ensure this is correct before ordering. If you are unsure, please don't hesitate to contact us and ask for assistance.
Technical Notes
Specifications: Genuine BSH CleanAir Plus odour filter set (lamellar filters). Dimensions: 194 mm x 75 mm x 35 mm (approx. 19.4 cm x 7.5 cm x 3.5 cm). Content units: 4. Material: activated carbon granulate in a paper and plastic housing. Recommended service life: 6–12 months.
Safety note: This filter set is a consumable component and should be replaced at regular intervals to maintain performance. Always isolate the appliance from the electrical supply before beginning any work. Allow the appliance to cool and the grease to solidify before handling the old filters, as hot grease can cause burns. Wear gloves when removing the filters, as edges may be sharp and the old filters may be heavily soiled with grease and carbon particles. Carbon filters cannot be washed or regenerated and must be replaced.
Fitment guidance: This filter set fits only the Balay, Bosch, Constructa, Gaggenau, Neff and Siemens cooker hood and venting hob models listed in the compatibility matrix below. Model numbers can be found on a rating plate on the underside of the hood or on the inner edge of the chimney section.

Common Faults & SymptomsThe following fault codes and symptoms are commonly reported when this part begins to fail. Use this as a diagnostic guide before ordering a replacement — if more than one of these is present, the part is the likely culprit. 1
Filter Saturation Symbol Flashing (Bosch / Neff / Siemens)
On BSH-family hoods fitted with a saturation indicator, the symbol for the odour filter flashes after the appliance is switched off. This indicates that the odour filter is saturated and must be replaced. The indicator can be reset after fitting a new filter. If the symbol continues to flash after replacement and reset, the filter may not be seated correctly or the wrong filter type may have been fitted.
2
Error Code F2 / E8207 / E705 (Gaggenau / Siemens) — Electronics Overheated
Gaggenau and Siemens venting hobs may display F2, E8207 or E705 when the electronics have overheated and the cooking zones have been switched off to protect the appliance. A severely clogged odour filter can restrict airflow enough to cause heat build-up around the electronics. Allow the appliance to cool, then check and replace the filter before resetting the error.
3
Error Code F4 / E8208 / E705 (Gaggenau / Siemens) — Electronics Overheated, All Zones Off
A more severe version of F2, where all cooking zones have been switched off. This can occur when the airflow through the hood or venting hob is severely restricted by a saturated filter. Wait for the electronics to cool fully, then replace the odour filter and check that the grease filter is also clean.
4
Cooking Odours Linger in the Kitchen
The most common symptom of a saturated odour filter. Strong cooking smells — particularly from frying, grilling or strong spices — remain in the air long after cooking has finished. This happens when the activated carbon granulate has adsorbed all the odour molecules it can hold, and new odours pass straight through the filter without being trapped. Replacing the filter set is the only effective solution.
5
Reduced Airflow or Weak Extraction
The hood runs but the extraction feels weak. A clogged odour filter restricts the flow of air through the appliance, so even at full speed the performance is noticeably reduced. This can also put extra strain on the motor. If the airflow improves significantly after removing the filter, the filter is the likely cause rather than the motor.
6
Greasy Film on Kitchen Surfaces
A fine layer of grease settles on worktops, cabinets and walls near the cooker. When the odour filter is saturated, it can no longer trap airborne grease particles, and they are recirculated back into the room. This is both a cleaning problem and a sign that the filter needs replacing. Regular cleaning of surfaces will not solve the issue while the filter remains saturated.
7
Rattling or Vibrating Noise From the Appliance
A worn or damaged carbon filter can break apart, allowing loose carbon particles to rattle inside the housing. The noise may be intermittent at first, becoming more consistent as the filter degrades. This is a clear sign that the filter has reached the end of its service life and should be replaced. Do not attempt to reuse a filter that is shedding carbon particles.
8
Visible Dirt, Discolouration or Saturation on the Filter
Remove the filters and inspect them in good light. Saturated filters will appear dark, greasy or uniformly discoloured. Carbon filters cannot be washed or regenerated — once the activated carbon is saturated, it is spent. If the filters look dirty or have lost their original colour, replacement is the correct course of action.
9
Hood Works Normally but Smells Linger
The hood appears to be functioning correctly — the fan runs, the lights work, the controls respond — but cooking odours still linger in the kitchen. This is a classic indication that the odour filter is saturated and no longer trapping odours. Replacing the filter set resolves the issue.
10
Increased Noise or Whistling From the Appliance
A saturated odour filter can cause the appliance to become noisy, producing a whistling or high-pitched sound as air is forced through the restricted filter material. Carbon filters that wear out can break apart and create rattling sounds. If the noise disappears when the filters are removed, the filters are the cause.
Fitment GuidanceThis odour filter set is compatible only with the Balay, Bosch, Constructa, Gaggenau, Neff and Siemens cooker hood and venting hob models listed in the compatibility matrix above. Even if a filter looks visually similar, the dimensions can differ between models, so a part that appears to fit may not seal correctly or may allow air to bypass the carbon. There are several filters that look alike yet are not interchangeable.
Diagnostic TipsBefore concluding that the filters need replacing, carry out these checks to rule out other causes. No specialist tools are required.
Installation GuideThese steps describe the general procedure for replacing odour filters on a compatible appliance. The exact sequence varies between models, so always consult the appliance manual where available.

Cooker Hood Filter Specialist
Cooker Hood
Filters
Cooker hood filters come in two main types: grease filters, which prevent grease entering the motor, and carbon/charcoal filters, which remove odours and protect the motor. All hoods require a grease filter, and non-vented hoods should also have a carbon filter fitted. Regular replacement or cleaning is essential for optimal performance.
Filter Replacement Guidelines
- Grease filters: replace every 1–6 months depending on cooking frequency and type
- Carbon/charcoal filters: replace every 3–6 months for optimal odour removal
- Metal mesh grease filters: clean regularly to prevent blockage or damage
- Replacement frequency depends on cooking habits rather than just manufacturer guidelines
Some cooker hood filters are highly model-specific. Images and sizes are for illustration only. Always check compatibility with your specific model to ensure correct fit and performance.
Important: Do not rely solely on images, as filters can appear identical but be incompatible. Always refer to model specifications and contact us if unsure.

BSH Group Platform Specialist
Bosch / Neff / Siemens
Spare Parts.
Bosch appliances are produced by the BSH Group, which also owns Neff and Siemens. Many components are shared across these brands and their regional variants, making accurate model identification essential for correct part selection.
ENR-Based Identification Is Mandatory
Almost all Bosch, Neff, and Siemens appliances are produced in multiple variants. To ensure correct fitment, the full model number or ENR number from the rating plate is required. Visual comparison alone is unreliable.
Cross-Brand Compatibility
Many functional components, such as heating elements, motors, switches, and pumps, are shared across Bosch, Neff, Siemens, and other BSH-owned brands. Correct cross-referencing can significantly reduce repair costs without compromising quality.
Variant Sensitivity
Bosch parts can vary significantly by revision, and some genuine components are expensive. Ordering without confirming the ENR can result in incorrect or incompatible parts. When in doubt, verification is strongly advised.
Confirm Your Bosch, Neff or Siemens Spares
Provide the full model or ENR number, and our technical team will check your appliance against the correct BSH platform to ensure exact fitment.
